 Rehabilitation  of the
drainage system 
in Banda Aceh

The project aims at the thorough rehabilitation (up to 150 km of channels, pumping stations, retarding basins) of the primary and secondary drainage infrastructure in five hydrographical zones, covering 80 % of the urban area. It will reduce the floods which strike the city after every raining event (23.000 people are currently affected by this phenomenon).

The purpose of the Climate Change Program Loan, which will be disbursed as a budgetary support, is to sustain Indonesian driven policy reform for dealing with climate change issues and to help the implementation of agreed policy targets/actions stated in the form of a three-year “Policy Matrix” (revisable every year). Targets of the Policy Matrix are divided into three parts: mitigation, adaptation and cross-sectoral issues.

Electricity distribution network in Java and Bali

The purpose of the project is to improve the energy efficiency of the electricity distribution network by reducing the distribution losses - which will have a positive impact on the CO2 emissions of the sector - but also to improve the economical efficiency of the network and its reliability for the population and the industries.

The project will rehabilitate the distribution network in five regions in the islands of Java and Bali by installing new distribution lines, new transformers, new feeders for network reconfiguration and new capacitors.
